In honor of Pre-Eclampsia Awareness Month, the Indonesian Prenatal Institute successfully held a webinar titled “Generasi Sehat, Bebas Pre-Eklamsia!” on Thursday, May 29, 2025. The event attracted more than 300 participants from various regions across Indonesia, reflecting strong public interest in maternal health education.
The webinar aimed to raise awareness of pre-eclampsia, one of the leading causes of maternal and neonatal mortality in Indonesia. Often arriving without warning signs, this condition poses serious risks if undetected. However, the session emphasized a hopeful message: the risks of pre-eclampsia can be significantly reduced through education and early screening.
Participants had the opportunity to learn directly from trusted experts in the field. Dr. dr. Raden Aditya Kusuma, SpOG, M.Sc, Subsp K.FM opened the session by stressing the importance of healthy lifestyle habits during pregnancy. His talk, titled “Healthy Pregnancy Starts with a Healthy Lifestyle,” laid the foundation for the evening. This was followed by a powerful presentation by Dr. Adly Nanda, SpOG, who explained how early prediction can lead to stronger prevention. Dr. Marcel Elian Suwito, SpOG, highlighted the silent but dangerous nature of pre-eclampsia in his session, “Pre-Eclampsia: The Silent Threat.” The evening concluded with a compassionate message from Midwife Cantika Desra, who encouraged mothers not to fear screening through her session titled “Pre-Eclampsia Screening: To Be Loved, Not Feared.”
Throughout the webinar, participants were encouraged to join the Prenatal Community, a growing support group where mothers can access free ultrasound screening services, daily pregnancy education, and mutual encouragement from fellow expecting mothers. The event not only offered practical knowledge but also created a space for empowerment and shared support, reminding mothers that they are not alone in their journey.
The Indonesian Prenatal Institute expressed its gratitude for the overwhelming participation and remains committed to improving maternal and child health through accessible education and high-quality care. As a follow-up, all participants were invited to register for free pre-eclampsia and Down syndrome ultrasound screenings available at the Prenatal Center.
The webinar was a powerful reminder that with the right knowledge and support, a healthier generation is within reach. Together, we move closer to a future where every pregnancy is safer and every child is given a stronger start.
