On Saturday, June 28, 2025, the Indonesian Prenatal Institute in collaboration with Cexup held a national webinar titled “Saving a Generation Starts in the Womb: Early Detection of Pre-Eclampsia and Stunting Prevention.” The event highlighted the critical role of technology in early detection of pre-eclampsia and its downstream impact on stunting prevention, from the prenatal stage through postnatal care.
This initiative was proudly supported by the Digital Health Community of Indonesia (Komdigi) and the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, strengthening a shared commitment to maternal and child health innovation.
Late-detected pre-eclampsia poses life-threatening risks to both mother and baby and is increasingly recognized as a contributor to childhood stunting. Through this webinar, experts presented the latest advancements in screening tools and technologies that enable earlier identification and monitoring of at-risk pregnancies, leading to timely, life-saving interventions.
Participants learned how digital health tools and evidence-based strategies can be used to improve outcomes during and beyond pregnancy, especially in resource-limited settings.
Two leading voices from the Indonesian Prenatal Institute shared their expertise during the session:
- Dr. dr. Aditya Kusuma, M.Sc, Sp.OG-KFM, Chairman, Indonesian Prenatal Institute shared how first-trimester screening, when combined with modern technology, is pivotal in detecting high-risk conditions such as pre-eclampsia and chromosomal abnormalities, helping reduce stunting before it begins.
- dr. Adly Nanda Al Fattah, Sp.OG, Executive Director, Indonesian Prenatal Institute emphasized the importance of an integrated maternal care approach, from screening to education and follow-up, as part of a long-term strategy to build a healthier next generation.
The event received full support from Indonesia’s Minister of Health, Budi Gunadi Sadikin, who praised the collaboration between the Indonesian Prenatal Institute and Cexup. He emphasized how innovation and digital transformation must be embedded in maternal health systems to reduce maternal and infant mortality and accelerate stunting reduction.
Efforts like these are not just important, they are urgent. We must act from pregnancy, and I deeply appreciate IPI and Cexup’s initiative in supporting maternal and child health transformation in Indonesia.
Budi Gunadi Sadikin, Minister of Health, Republic of Indonesia
This event serves as a powerful reminder that the foundation of a healthy generation begins long before birth.
By combining data, technology, and cross-sector collaboration, we can help ensure safer pregnancies and stronger futures for mothers and children alike.
