The Indonesian Prenatal Institute (IPI) has signed a new Memorandum of Understanding with Rumah Sakit Islam Kendal, marking an important step in expanding the nationwide implementation of safe and systematic preeclampsia screening.
Over the past two years, IPI’s data from the SafePrenatal Program have shown a significant decline in preeclampsia cases in the Jabodetabek population following the adoption of combined first-trimester screening and structured follow-up pathways. These findings highlight a clear message: early and standardized screening saves mothers and babies.
This collaboration with Rumah Sakit Islam Kendal represents IPI’s commitment to ensuring that such evidence-based screening is not limited to major cities. By working together, both institutions aim to establish a model where accurate risk detection, proper counseling, and timely referral can be delivered consistently at the regional level.
Through the MoU, IPI will support RSI Kendal in implementing the SafePrenatal screening framework, training healthcare providers, and integrating clinical pathways aligned with best practices. The goal is to make preeclampsia screening more accessible, scalable, and sustainable, so that women across Indonesia, regardless of location, can receive the same level of early detection that has proven effective.
This partnership reflects a shared vision: expanding the reach of quality prenatal screening so that preventable complications can be reduced, and more families can experience safer pregnancies.
