On Friday, August 29, 2025, Indonesian Prenatal Institute in collaboration with the RSAB Harapan Kita hosted a continuing professional development (SKP Kemenkes) webinar titled:
“Investigation and Treatment Options After a Diagnosis of Early Miscarriage.”
The session was led by Muhammad Ikhsan, MD, SpOG, UCL PhD Researcher, who provided valuable insights into current approaches in post-miscarriage care.
dr. Ikhsan explored how investigation protocols and treatment pathways have evolved in recent years. He discussed key aspects such as:
- Diagnostic methods to identify underlying causes of early miscarriage.
- Evidence-based treatment strategies tailored to patient profiles.
- The importance of sensitive and holistic care in supporting women after pregnancy loss.
The webinar also emphasized the integration of updated clinical guidelines into daily practice, equipping healthcare professionals to offer more effective and compassionate care for their patients.
Why It Matters
Early miscarriage remains one of the most common pregnancy complications, yet it is often under-discussed in both medical training and public health discourse. For many women, the experience is not only a medical condition but also an emotional trauma that requires careful management.
By revisiting post-miscarriage care through scientific updates and empathetic clinical practice, this webinar underscored the importance of:
- Reducing recurrence risks through appropriate investigations.
- Improving maternal mental health by integrating supportive care.
- Strengthening clinical competence so that healthcare providers can deliver both evidence-based treatment and emotional reassurance.
Ultimately, the session reinforced a vital message: advancing the quality of post-miscarriage care is not only about preventing future complications, but also about restoring dignity, trust, and hope for women and families facing pregnancy loss.
